Te Whare Mokopuna came as a dream to create a whare for mokopuna Māori to be Māori. As the oldest mokopuna raised by my nana and papa in Te Ao Māori, I was surrounded by my kaumātua and kuia, connected to my whenua, whānau, hapū and iwi. My papa kāinga in Awanui became my foundation for mātauranga Māori, that I would later share with tamariki and whānau in statutory care. 

Te Whare Mokopuna provides higher learning of Te Ao Māori from the knowledge passed down from my tupuna, to my nana and papa, to my parents, to me, to my children and to mokopuna.
